Best Friend

Hello everyone

I hope everyone is well and those in the UK have enjoyed their first day of proper freedom! So I'm off to a craft beer and pizza night on Wednesday with the other half and his sister and her husband, it'll be the first time we've all seen each other since way before Christmas. So looking forward to it!

I had a birthday on the 15th and didn't get loads of crafty bits... boo hoo, but I did get a new craft lamp and it's brilliant.

Anyway, I have spent today making a card for my friend who has been very supportive to me recently, too long to explain. Hope she likes it. So here it is...

To make this card I used the following, 6x6 card blank, a Bildmalarna image ( I do miss their stamps) coloured with Promarkers, Lili of the Valley sentiment, check card is a left over piece, the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, dies are unbranded and everything else from my stash.

Have a great week and see you soon.

'Rock Star'

Good evening friends and visitors

I hope every one is keeping well? We've had  mixture of weather here in 'Sunny Southend,' rain, sun, wind and hail stones... wow, who upset the weather Gods? So I had my 2nd Covid jab this week, it's knocked me for six this time!

Anyway, I have the dreaded masculine card to share with you, which was made for the brother-in-law (as I call him) he used to be in a band, so I hope he liked it. This card was well out of my comfort zone and there is not a lot to it. So here it is...

To make this card I used a 6x6 card blank, Funky Fossil stencil which you can find here, I stencilled this onto watercolour card using Tim Holtz distress inks, black and red card are leftovers from another project, the die is unbranded and bling is from my stash.

I would like to say a big thank you for all the lovely comments I have received on my last two cards and I'm pleased to say that they have been picked as a top 3/5, which is amazing!

Have a great weekend, I've a busy week next week, as I can go and visit friends from Monday... yay!

The Last One for Now!

 Happy Sunday friends,

I hope everyone is OK? Thank you for all the lovely comments that I received on my tulip card. I was overwhelmed that you all took the time to visit. Sorry, I've not posted recently, I've been busy creating a newspaper for a friend who is 70 this week. Lot's of research done, contacting members of his family for treasured memories. Sadly, I can't share this with you as there is a lot of personal bits on there. Anyway, I can share his birthday card I made this afternoon and hopefully this is the last male card for a while, I really need to make girly cards!

The card was made using 6x6 card blank, rounder punch, paper from my snippets box, card candi and unbranded stamps and dies.

Have a great week and pleased stay safe.

Is it Spring?

 Afternoon friends

It's a beautiful day here in 'sunny' Southend. I've got my windows wide open to let in some fresh air in, it's lovely! So, I've had my Covid jab last week and it was all fine, only felt tired and had sore arm. I'm glad I've had it, I can see light at the end of the tunnel.

Not done any crafting in the last week, but I do have a card to share with you. I made this card for a friend whose birthday was last weekend. So here it is...

I saw this embossing folder on Alizabethy's blog and thought I really need it  :). Luckily, I found it on Ebay! You can see Alizabethy's creations using the folder here. She has a lovely blog so please make a visit.

A 5x7 card base and to make this I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink and laid it on to the folder then ran it thought my Big Shot using water colour card.  I stamped the tulip on to water coloured card and coloured using Arteza water colour pens (first time I have used them) I need more practice! I then cut the tulip with the matching die. All card used is left over from another project. All dies and stamp used are unbranded, the bling was from my stash.

Thank you for visiting and please stay safe where ever you are.

Another Man Card!

 Good evening crafting friends,

So we're nearly halfway through this month, it's going so fast. I know I've been MIA for the last couple of weeks, I've an excuse. I had to have a new boiler fitted and so my kitchen had to have a lot of cupboards cleared as it was being moved, so I had to move all my kitchen bits into the only other room I have (I live in a studio flat) so not much room! Anyway still can't craft as when they put the boiler in they damaged the work surface so that's got to be replaced, so more upheaval. On the plus point I now have heating and instant hot water a first for 4 months!!! Much needed as 'sunny' Southend has seen a lot of snow and it's been really cold.

Anyway, here is another card I have made for a man, really hate making them. It's another monochromatic card and here it is...

I have used the following:

6x6 card blank
Woodware stamp
Unbranded stamp, which I fussy cut
Unbranded scallop die
Ribbon from stash
Card candi
Haven't a clue where the papers are from.

Thanks for visiting, have a great weekend and please stay safe.

Wow, it's February!

 Hello friends,

Well can you believe it we're into February and it didn't seem that long ago we were waiting for the big man in red! Still no snow in 'sunny' Southend, plenty of wind and rain, luckily we're stuck in! I must admit I'm struggling with this current lockdown, I'm so missing my family and friends. It's my niece's birthday this month and my mojo decided to go missing, so I cased a card I made a few years ago. I'm pleased with it.

I can show the card as my niece doesn't look at my blog and here it is...

So I used the following to make this:

6x6 card blank.
Papers are Trimcraft, First Edition 'Love Letters'.
Lili of the Valley Art Pad, unfortunately, I can't find this image in their Etsy shop.
Lili of the Valley sentiments and you can find them HERE.
Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The wonky stitched die is unbranded.
Pearls, charm and ribbon from stash
Tim Holtz distressing tool.

Thank you for taking to the time to visit, stay safe!

A Card for a Man!

 Happy Sunday!

I would like to say a very big thank you to all my new followers, I'm so happy to see you. It's a nice bright but cold day in 'sunny' Southend, no sign of any snow as of yet.

Today, I am sharing a card for another friend, this is my busiest time for birthdays. It's the dreaded man's card. I really don't enjoy making them at all, but, needs must, so I try my best! So here it is...

The stamp is from Woodware, 6x6 card base, the dies are unbranded, card candy and ribbon from my stash. Have a good week everyone and please stay safe.

A Birthday Card

Hello, I hope you are all keeping well. I'm feeling really shattered today after the wind and rain kept me awake most of the night! At least we didn't get any snow. I'm spending my lockdown crafting, I've been making cards during the day and the evenings knitting or crocheting, I can do this while binge watching and catching up on tv programmes.

Anyway, here is the first card to share with you today.

I have used a simply print image from Lili of the Valley which you can find here. A 5x7 card blank, the dies and embossing folder are all unbranded, ribbon and gems from my stash.

Thank you for taking the time to visit, enjoy the rest of your week and please stay safe.

First Make of 2021

Good afternoon friends,

I hope 2021 has been a pretty good start so far for you all? I know it's not been easy, what with the tier situation in the UK. Here in Southend we went in to Tier 4 as soon as it was announced and I won't be surprised if we go into lockdown later. The Coronavirus has really taken hold here!

So to cheer everyone up I've made my first card of 2021 and I'm sharing it with you all. It's made for a friend who owns a Dachshund called Dora. I usually take her for walks most days, but with lockdowns and the tier situation it hasn't been possible. So here is my quick and simple card...

This is an A2 card size and I have used a simply print image from Lili of the Valley which you can find here, this has been printed on to textured card, the sentiment is also Lili of the Valley, double stitched dies are unbranded and the twine is from my stash.

Meet my walking buddy Dora...

I've now got to put my thinking cap on as I have just been commissioned for three birthday cards... yikes!

Take care and please all stay safe.

Good News!

 Hi friends

I am happy to say that my Covid-19 test turned out negative... yay. However, it would seem I just had a good old common cold! Mind you the cold did knock me for six and so not done much in the last week. I'm feeling much better today and may venture out with a short walk.

Anyway, on to what I have to show you. I've finally made a start on Christmas cards and here is one of them.

A nice simple one using an old die sheet image from Lili of the Valley, which you can find in their Etsy shop here. This is such a sweet image. I just used an unbranded scalloped square die, the papers are so old I haven't a clue where from, ribbon and gems from stash.

Thank you for taking the time to visit and thank you to those that commented on my Christmas plate.

Stay safe and have a good week!

Another Saturday Comes Around!

 Hello friends,

I hope you're all keeping well? No rain so far in sunny Southend, but I'm sure we will get sometime today! I've had a busy couple of weeks designing, making and finishing a few things. Still got loads to do. I have managed to find all my Christmas stash and I must start on my cards.

Anyway, I'm sharing a card today I made for my friends daughter who was 2 years old and horse mad already! Here it is another cute image from Lili of the Valley.

The image is a simply print and you can find it here, I do love using the simply prints as I can make a quick card when needed. The oval die, embossing folder, number and sentiment are all unbranded, ribbon, flowers and buttons from my stash.

Have a good week ahead and please stay safe in these uncertain times.

Tulip Card

Good evening.

So I have just got back from a short break away, firstly my partner and I stopped off in York for a couple of days. What a lovely city, we took in some of the sights. Then stopped off in Scunthorpe to visit friends and then Sunday we went to Newark to visit more friends and to remember the Battle of Britain at their memorial. The Battle of Britain was 80 years ago today (Tuesday 15th September). Here are a couple of photos (my partner is on the right of the first picture).

Anyway I do have a card I made just before I went away. I really enjoyed making this. The tulips have been coloured with Hunkydory Prisms. Hope you all like it!

To make this card I used an embossing folder from Docrafts, Marianne Designs Petra triangle and everything else is unbranded.

Have a great week, I'm having a crafting day tomorrow and will share what I make at a later date.

OMG We're in September!

 Hello
Well August went too fast! I've been away for a week house sitting so not much crafting done apart from some knitting. I'm making a basket weave blanket in multi colour yarn, I will share this with you once I have finished.
I have a card to share with you that I made using watercolour pencils, I must admit I like using them as I find them easier to use than my Promarkers!  I used a wooden Penny Black stamp that I've had for years. I'm going to enter this into some challenges, I've not done this for so long. Anyway here is my card...

To make this card I have used the following items:
Penny Black 'Jungle Tulip' wooden stamp, Cuttlebug Embossing folder, Unbranded cutting die, Sprinkles, Lili of the Valley sentiment stamps, ribbon from stash and Hunkydory Prism watercolour pencils.
Thank you for taking the time to visit and have a great week, see you soon. Please stay safe.

Happy Sunday!

Hello everyone,

Well it's been two weeks since my last post. I had a last minute getaway to look after my friends dog Dora while they went to Devon house hunting. I decided not to take my laptop with me. The sun was shining and it was way too hot for me and Dora. So meet Dora, she is very needy as she lost her friend a couple of months ago. She wouldn't leave my side and slept on the end of the bed with me... bless her. So here she is.

Anyway, I'm home now and have made a card to share with you. All the dies are unbranded apart from the 'happy birthday' die which is Lawn Fawn and I have cut some bits off it. Hope you like it.

Have a good week and please stay safe...

Too Hot for Me!

A quickie!!

Hi peeps, a schedule post from me today as I have such a busy Saturday. So Friday here in Sunny Southend the temperature reached 33C, way too hot for me. I had three fans on and still it was uncomfortable. I know I shouldn't complain, but...  So I spent the afternoon making a quick card and cutting vinyl with my Cricut to put names on bits and bobs. So here is my card...

I used a simply print image from Lili of the Valley which you can find here, these are brilliant for quick cards! The embossing folder is from Crafters Companion and all the dies are unbranded.

Have a great weekend and thank you for taking the time to visit.

Happy Saturday

Good Morning

Hi all, I hope you've had a good week and got some crafting done in this extremely hot weather we are having in the UK. It's been too hot for me and to be honest I haven't done much. As a diabetic I have noticed that my sugar levels have been a touch higher than normal and this makes me tired! Anyway,  I have loads of bits to do, so this weekend I will be crafting.

So I am showing a quick card I made for a birthday, I have loads coming up.

I love this stamp from Lili of the Valley you can find the digi image here, it's so sweet. I have coloured it with Hunkydory Prisms, the papers I've have had for ages and I don't know where they came from... sorry. The stitched square die is unbranded, flowers and ribbon from stash.

I'm having a crafty de-stash you can find the bits for sale here.

Thanks for passing by and stay safe.

Bildmalarna - Who Remember's these Stamps?

Hello Again

So, where has the week gone let alone the weekend. It's been lovely here in Southend and I do wish I had a garden to sit in. So I have been following the free classes on Kit and Clowder and more practice is still needed. It's where to put the shading that puzzles me. I know I will get there in the end!!

Anyway, I have a couple of cards to share with you today. They are cards using mini Bildmalarna stamps. Sadly Bildmalarna closed down, I loved their stamps. I've coloured them both using watercolour pencils from Hunkydory (Prisms). I found them easy to use considering I am a novice at colouring with this medium.

How cute are they?

Have a good week, if you're passing by my blog, please say hello, it's not compulsory.

Take care and stay safe.
